Clint Sargent named new WSU men’s basketball head coach
On Thursday, March 28, Wright State University announced that Clint Sargent is the next men’s basketball coach, the 10th in program history.
“Sargent has been on the Wright State coaching staff since 2016, including serving as the associate head coach for the last three seasons,” a press release from the WSU newsroom reads.

Bridge collapse in Baltimore
On Tuesday, March 26, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed after a container ship hit the bridge, according to the Associated Press. Six construction workers are still unaccounted for, and two people were rescued from the water.
The ship had lost power and issued a mayday call shortly before it hit the bridge, according to the Associated Press. Police officers had only about 90 seconds to stop traffic to the bridge before its collapse.

U.N. Security Council calls for cease-fire in Gaza
On Monday, March 25, the United Nations Security Council issued its first demand for a cease-fire in Gaza, according to the Associated Press. The United States abstained from the vote.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the U.S. of ‘retreating’ from a ‘principled position’ by allowing the vote to pass without conditioning the cease-fire on the release of hostages held by Hamas,” the press release reads.
