Grand jury indicts 14 members of a Southern Ohio Motorcycle Club
On Tuesday, June 11, a Southern Ohio grand jury indicted the “boss” and 13 other members of the “outlaw motorcycle gang” known as the Thug Riders Motorcycle Club (TRMC), according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The indictment alleges that the TRMC operated as a criminal enterprise with members engaging in acts of violence, such as murder and arson, and allegedly participating in extortion and identity fraud. Federal and local law enforcement officials arrested all 14 defendants on Friday, June 14.

Supreme Court strikes down ban on rapid-fire rifle bump stocks
On Friday, June 14, the Supreme Court struck down a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, a rapid fire gun accessory used in the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, according to the Associated Press.
In a 6-3 opinion written by Justice Clarence Thomas, the court found that the Trump administration overstepped in banning the accessory. He wrote that the Justice department was wrong to declare that bump stocks transformed semiautomatic rifles into illegal machine guns because each trigger depression in rapid succession still only releases one shot.

Unsafe E. coli levels found in Seine River ahead of Paris Olympics
On Friday, June 14, water monitoring group Eau de Paris found unsafe levels of E. coli in the Seine River less than 2 months before athletic competitions are scheduled to take place in it during the Paris Olympics, according to the Associated Press.
The men’s triathlon, women’s triathlon, a mixed relay and marathon swimming races are set to take place in the Seine River. The International Olympic Committee said that they are confident that swim competitions will take place in the river this year.
