Overnight shooting kills one and injuries 24
On Sunday, June 2, gunfire broke out at a street party in the city of Akron, killing one person and injuring 24, according to the Associated Press. An unnamed witness said that hundreds of people were at the party before the shooting took place.
Police said the investigation is in its preliminary stages and asked anyone with information to call detectives.

Donald Trump found guilty on 34 felony counts
On Thursday, May 30, a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty of all 34 charges of falsifying business records, according to the Associated Press. Trump is the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes.
Sentencing will take place on July 11, just days before the 2024 Republican National Convention, which Trump is set to be the nominee.

Mexico to elect their first female president, delays in elections results
On Sunday, June 2, polls closed in Mexico, marking a historic election as the two leading candidates are both female, according to the Associated Press.
The two candidates are Claudia Sheinbaum backed by outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Xóchitl Gálvez from the conservative PAN party. If either wins, Mexico will have its first female president.
As of Sunday night, Sheinbaum was ahead with 10% of the votes counted. Mexico’s electoral agency has not called the race. Vote counting has been slow.
