Join the College of Health, Education, and Human Services in a kick-off to the new school year with a mini-involvement fair, food, prizes, and more.
About the event
The CHEH Kick-Off event will be a great way for students who are a part of the college to network with other students and faculty members. Although the event is targeted at students who are in the CHEH, it is open to all students.
The event will have free pizza, and there will be lots of fun activities planned, such as a picture wall, music and giveaways. In addition to this, there will be CHEH faculty hosting a mini-involvement fair, sharing with students the opportunities they have as students of this college.
The Kick-Off will be held on Tuesday, August 27th, in the Millett Hall atrium from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students who are part of the CHEH will also receive a free t-shirt.
CHEH student organizations
Rachel Schwab, the enrollment and retention coordinator for the CHEH, shares the student-led organizations that will be presenting at the mini-involvement fair.
“CHEH student organizations that will be present include the Pre-Health Society and the Association of Student Nurses,” Schwab said.
The Pre-Health Society is a very important Wright State University organization. Attending the kick-off will allow students to talk to current members of the organization, such as Hailey Abell who will be helping at the event, find out what they have to offer, and find out how to join.
“They are opening the health profession center, and we are planning to be there to talk a little bit about our organization,” Abell said.
According to the Wright State Division of Student Success website, “Each semester, numerous speakers from various areas of healthcare help give you an understanding of the many career possibilities within the field and an in-depth look into the lives of healthcare professionals, residents, and many others.”
If this is something that interests you, be sure to stop by the mini-involvement fair and talk to the Pre-Health Society members.
Work opportunities
Representatives from Premier Health will also be attending the event to talk to students about open positions in the Nursing Academy.
“This is an exciting opportunity for students to pursue their aspiration to become a Registered Nurse, to receive an education from an excellent nursing school, to be exposed to a real-life nursing community at Premier Health and to graduate without the typical college debt,” the website reads.
These are just a few of the organizations that will be at the event, and there will be lots of opportunities to grow and learn more about your college and get introduced to the college staff who are available as resources.
“This is a great time for all members of the CHEH community to network with students, staff, and faculty or even just grab some pizza and catch up with friends,” Schwab said.
Whether you are part of the CHEH or not, be sure to stop by Millett Hall on Aug. 27 to get connected to fellow WSU students, and enjoy some free food and community.
