After the sudden death of the Pope, protagonist Cardinal Thomas Lawrence must investigate the secrets and hidden objectives of four potential candidates for the position of Pope. The thriller focuses on the judgement of these individuals and the Cardinal’s ultimate decision.

Written by Camille and Zoe Saldaña, the winner for Best Original Motion Picture Song was “El Mal,” featured in “Emilia Pérez.”

Winner of Best Drama Motion Picture was “The Brutalist,” a period drama that was collaborated on with the United States, United Kingdom and Hungary. Its popularity is so large that it even achieved a spot in the top ten films of 2024 by the American Film Institute.
The story follows Holocaust survivor and Hungary-born Jewish architect László Tóth as he immigrates to the United States following WWII. While Tóth struggles to find work and to achieve the American Dream, his life takes a turn when he meets rich client Harrison Lee Van Buren.
Capricorn
“Hacks,” the winner of Best Musical or Comedy Television Series, tells the tale of stand-up comedian Deborah Vance and down-on-her-luck comedy writer Ava Daniels. The comedy-drama follows their relationship as Daniels is hired to write for Vance.
While the series originally aired in 2021, it was season three which won the Golden Globe award. As the two characters force the other to slowly open up and work through each others’ flaws, it is definitely worth watching.
Aquarius
Brady Corbet, director of “The Brutalist,” won the award for Best Motion Picture Director for his film. On top of his excellent directing, he also co-wrote the film’s screenplay along with Mona Fastvoid.
Corbet began his acting career in the early 2000s with films such as “Thirteen” (2003) and “Mysterious Skin” (2004). His first directing debut was in 2015 with the film “The Childhood of a Leader.” He continues to direct and even write stunning films.
Pisces
Perhaps saving the best for last, Pisces is most similar to famous Cinematic and Box Office Achievement winner “Wicked.” The first part of the two-part series is a musical fantasy film that is both based in the world of “The Wizard of Oz” and the 2003 musical “Wicked.”
The premise takes place before the contents of “The Wizard of Oz” and follows the infamous Wicked Witch of the West and the more-liked Glinda the Good. In this adaptation, the two women– Elphaba Thropp and Galinda Upland– meet and bond at Shiz University.
