The Wright State Guardian’s Dayton’s Not Dead segment highlights businesses local to the Dayton area. Here are just a few restaurants and cafes that have been featured.

K&J’s 

K&J’s Ice Cream Shop located in Sidney, Ohio, is the perfect place to cool down with a sweet treat this summer. 

The family-owned shop offers a variety of flavors and ice cream dishes. The stand is open from March till October from 1-9 p.m. everyday.

Glo 

Those looking for a more healthy and refreshing summer dining experience can check out Glo Juice Bar and Cafe in downtown Dayton. 

The cafe features smoothies, juices and deserts all of which are vegan and gluten-free. Opened in 2019, the cafe holds seasonal hours with doors open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during weekends.

Company 7

Company 7 BBQ is another family-owned establishment in the Dayton area. This firehouse-themed restaurant features traditional barbecue fare and beverages. 

The restaurant also features an event space and a first-responder-friendly environment.

Coffee Hub

Coffee shops can be enjoyed in any season.  Like Glo, Coffee Hub is an allergy-friendly coffee shop and cafe with various locations throughout the Dayton area, including Beavercreek and Xenia. 

The café features both hot and iced drinks and gluten free pastries and sweets.
