Golf places third in the Wright State Invitational

Senior Cody Nickson finished in seventh place while the Raiders finished in third place out of nine teams in the Wright State Invitational at the Miami Valley Golf Club on Tuesday, April 5.

The Raiders finished 34 strokes behind Dayton who placed in first with a score of 859 with a low round of 284 for the three-round tournament that began on Monday.

Joey Krecic of Cleveland State placed first for the tournament as he shot even with a 213 after posting a 72, 71 and 70.

Wright State posted five scores within the top 25, as Nickson shot a 220 with a low round of 70 after posting a 79 in the first round.

Junior Ryan Wenzler finished four strokes behind Nickson with a 224, placing him 13.

Senior Conner Lash tied for 18 with a 227 while juniors Chris Rossi and Austin Sipe both shot 231.

As an individual competitor, freshman Mitch Lehigh posted a 229 and placed 21.

Wright State will be back in action on Saturday, April 9 as they travel to Columbus for the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.
