Wright State University spirit and event planning organization holds second annual Halloween Bash.

The event

On Friday, Oct. 28, WSU’s University Activities Board hosted the annual Halloween Bash from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Student Union.

The agenda of the night consisted of the haunted hospital, Halloweentown movie, spider web laser tag, thrilling tabletop, scary s’mores, eerie eSports, craft cemetery and a costume party.

UAB planned the event with the help of other organizations, including the Black Student Union, Student Government Association, Miracle Makers, the Asian Student Association, Wright State Hospitality Services, Wright State sports, WSU sorority and fraternity life, WWSU 106.9 radio station and the Tabletop Club.

Rylee Thompson, a junior early childhood education major, volunteered for Halloween Bash this year.

“Halloween Bash is so much fun because it is on campus and is student run. I get to meet so many more people that live on campus that I wouldn’t normally get to meet. Overall, it’s just a wonderfully good time,” Thompson said. “This year, there’s definitely a lot more going on and a lot more marketing towards it.”

Izzy Rice, UAB vice president, also explained the excitement around the event.

“I like Halloween Bash because it kind of gives people a safer option to celebrating Halloween, and they can still dress up and participate in costume contests and all kinds of activities,” Rice said.

According to Rice, there was no live band this year, but a costume dance party instead.

Luna Syme, a freshman fine arts major, attended Halloween Bash for the first time this year.

“I wanted to see if it’s as fun as I thought it was going to be, and I have not been disappointed, mostly because I wanted to go to the haunted house, and I have truly enjoyed the experience so far,” Syme said.

Ryan Diaz, a first year graduate student in international comparative politics, attended and volunteered for the first time this year.

Diaz stated how exciting it is to have ASA, which Diaz is the president of, helping with the bash this year.

UAB hosts a plethora of large and small campus events throughout the academic year. The organization’s next event is a pop-up photo booth in the SU Atrium on Nov. 8 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
