Horoscopes: What Flower Are You?

Weekly Horoscope | Graphic by Bethany Althauser | The Wright State Guardian

With April on the horizon, this rainy month will bring with it blooming flowers. Based on your zodiac sign, which flower are you?

Aries: Cherry Blossoms

For the in-your-face and passionate Aries, cherry blossoms are a beloved choice.

Cherry blossoms are a popular flower most commonly seen in Japan. Their bright, vibrant petals help represent new beginnings, something the first zodiac sign will appreciate.

Taurus: Lavender

For the relaxed and comfort-loving Taurus, lavender is the best choice.

Lavenders are one of the most common scents used in self-care products, such as lotions, perfume and candles. Any self-respecting Taurus should find themselves enjoying a lavender-scented night sometime soon!

Gemini: Tulips

For the busy and social Gemini, tulips are a great choice.

Tulips have a variety of meanings, depending on which one of many colors they come in. Their commonality is also a plus—a Gemini can pick a bouquet of tulips up from just about any store and will not have to make room in their schedule to find this flower.

Cancer: Dahlias

For the comforting yet cold Cancer, dahlias are a fantastic choice.

This beautiful flower of cascading color is associated with devotion, a trait many Cancers share. Whether it be friends or family, Cancers always devote themselves to loving those around them.

Leo: Sunflowers

For the bright and energetic Leo, sunflowers are the obvious choice.

Sunflowers have a variety of meanings behind them, ranging from devotion to positivity and hope. Their special ability to turn towards the sun is something Leos will enjoy, seeing as they like to be the center of attention and have all eyes on them.

Virgo: Snapdragons

For the detailed and logical Virgo, snapdragons are a smart choice.

Snapdragons hold a long list of uses, such as garnish and the occasional magic charm. They also represent strength and grace, two qualities that also make up every Virgo. Also, their unique, detailed shapes are a sight to behold!

Libra: Marigolds

For the successful and aesthetic-loving Libra, marigolds are a lovely choice.

These charming flowers are a beautiful accessory to anyone’s home; the equally-charming Libra will enjoy having these pops of warmth around them. Just like sunflowers, marigold’s golden color means that it is closely associated with the sun.

Scorpio: Cacti

For the prickly and misunderstood Scorpio, a cactus is an unexpected but realistic choice.

For the least understood zodiac sign, it only makes sense that such a unique plant like a cactus would be the Scorpio’s choice. Cacti are beloved succulents, and many cacti have beautiful blooming flowers on their tops—a positive side to a plant many may see as “bad.”

Sagittarius: Bird of Paradise

For the unique and adaptable Sagittarius, bird of paradise is a fun choice.

The bird of paradise is a unique flower that takes the shape of a bird, something you do not see that often in nature! This is not the only reason the Sagittarius should enjoy this flower, however, as it also symbolizes joy and freedom, qualities every Sagittarius either has or enjoys.

Capricorn: Baby’s Breath

For the earnest and grounded Capricorn, baby’s breath is the ideal choice.

For the sign that will always keep pushing forward, baby’s breath’s symbol of new beginnings makes them the perfect match. These flowers are also often used in weddings and baby showers, which could be long-term goals for a Capricorn.

Aquarius: Poppies

For the stressed yet innovative Aquarius, poppies are a great choice.

Poppies are commonly used as symbols of peace and rest, something that an Aquarius desperately needs. These gorgeous yet tragic flowers are a sight to behold, just like the accomplishments of an Aquarius.

Pisces: Hyacinths

For the sweet and compassionate Pisces, hyacinths are an excellent choice.

These soft flowers come in a variety of colors and are commonly seen as a sign of beauty and pride. Every Pisces should have hyacinths in their home, whether to appreciate their beauty through painting or observation or simply to enjoy their sweet smell.
