Before we reach the end of this 21-movie, 11-year Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) saga, now would be the best time to review and rank the previous 21 movies.

  1. “The Incredible Hulk”

“The Incredible Hulk” tells the origin story of the Hulk and how he got his powers. This movie stars Edward Norton as the Hulk, before the role would eventually be recast with Mark Ruffalo.

  1. “Thor: The Dark World”

Brothers Thor and Loki return to Asgard in this movie and must team up after Thor’s girlfriend gets some virus/magic power in her.

  1. “Ant-Man and the Wasp”

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is the sequel to “Ant Man.” In this movie, you get to see The Wasp team up with Ant-Man to find out more about the quantum real and save her mother.

  1. “Captain Marvel”

“Captain Marvel” tells the origin story of the hero with the same name. In this film, Captain Marvel must discover who she really is, while taking place in an intergalactic battle and deciding whose side she is on.

  1. “Iron Man 2”

In this sequel to “Iron Man,” Tony Stark deals with the consequences of revealing his Iron Man identity. This film also introduces Black Widow and War Machine.

  1. “Iron Man 3”

In the final Iron Man film, Stark is suffering from PTSD from the events that occurred in the Avengers film and has to deal with a mysterious villain who is not who he seems in The Mandarin.

  1. “Thor”

This is the film that first introduces us to not only Thor but also Loki. Thor is banished from Asgard and loses his powers before coming back to defeat his brother and win the throne.

  1. “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

This follow-up Avengers film shows the heroes going out and fighting Ultron, who they accidently created. The film also introduces future Avengers members Scarlett Witch and Vision.

  1. “Doctor Strange”

“Doctor Strange” is the origin story of the hero who ends up becoming the sorcerer supreme after a bit of hesitation. Strange protects the people of Earths’ reality.

  1. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”

In this sequel, the guardians deal with much more family values. Gamora and her sister Nebula make up, Peter meets his father and the Guardians, as a whole, become a family more than ever before.

  1. “Ant-Man”

This movie shows how Scott Lang, after being released from prison, teams up with the Pym family and becomes Ant-Man. He must protect the Ant-Man technology from the evil Yellow Jacket in the movie, while also being there for his daughter.

  1. “Captain America: The First Avenger”

In this movie, we see how Captain America got his powers and he must go up against the Nazis and the villainous Red Skull. However, he has a lot of help from his friends Peggy Carter and Bucky Barnes to take him down.

  1. “Spider-Man Homecoming”

After the events of “Civil War,” this film shows Peter Parker wanting to join the Avengers. He must balance that with his school and personal life as well as dealing with the villain the Vulture.

  1. “Black Panther”

“Black Panther” takes us to the world of Wakanda and shows the history of the hero. A new threat shows up and decisions from past leaders come back to haunt him.

  1. “The Avengers”

“The Avengers” is the story of all of your favorite superheroes teaming up when Loki and his army arrive to Earth to take it over. This is also the first movie that introduces us to Thanos and his relationship with Loki.

  1. “Thor: Ragnarok”

“Thor: Ragnarok” is the final movie in the Thor trilogy. Thor and Loki must once again team up with Valkyrie and Hulk after finding out that their sister Hela, the goddess of Death, has come for the throne of Asgard.

  1. “Captain America: Civil War”

Following the events of Ultron, the Avengers are put under watch and sides are chosen between Captain America and Iron Man as the two have opposing views on what is the right thing to do.

  1. “Captain America: The Winter Solider”

In this film, Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon must go on the run after S.H.I.E.L.D turns out to be Hydra. Captain America must also deal with the fact that his old friend Bucky has been brainwashed and turned evil.

  1. “Guardians of the Galaxy”

This film tells the story of five outsiders who are also criminals, and the five of them team up to defend the galaxy from servants of Thanos while escaping the hunt of the Ravagers.

  1. “Iron Man”

“Iron Man” is the film that kicked the whole MCU off and tells the origin story of Iron Man. Stark is an arms dealer and decides to use his weapons for good instead of destruction and becomes Iron Man. When his mentor turns on him, he must defend the earth.

  1. “Avengers Infinity War”

This movie is the culmination of the all the movies above as the Avengers must deal with their greatest threat, Thanos, who is looking to wipe out half of the universe with the infinity stones. The movie ends with him succeeding and half of the Avengers turning to dust.

These films have all been leading to the release of “Avengers: Endgame,” which hopefully will be the best film yet.
