Men’s Basketball falls to NKU

Wright State traveled to Northern Kentucky on Jan. 11 to face off against rival NKU. The game was close but the Raiders ultimately lost 64-68.

The first half was a close one, with the Raiders leading at halftime 30-27. Mark Hughes led the team in the first half, scoring nine points and having five rebounds. Other first half leading scorers included Billy Wampler with five points and Louden Love with eight.

Wright State led early in the first half but NKU came back quickly and took the lead at 40-39. Although the Norse had the lead, the Raiders were still in the game, keeping the score extremely tight. With just over a minute remaining, the score was tied at 62 all, but NKU went on to win the game by just four points.

Love finished the game with 16 points, Hughes with 14, and Wampler with 9. Other leading scorers for the night included Junior Cole Gentry with 12.

Next up, the Raiders continue their road games, playing at Youngstown State on Thursday, Jan. 17 and facing Cleveland State Saturday, Jan. 19.
