Wright State University’s new bookstore retail space delays its opening due to permit issues. A spirit wear shop remains in the previous bookstore space.

eCampus update

eCampus is a fully digital bookstore with a storefront at 192 Student Union on the Dayton campus. The Barnes and Noble-affiliated bookstores on WSU’s Dayton and Lake campuses closed in early July.

According to Debra Radford, director of auxiliary services, the storefront opening was initially set to be in August before the start of the fall semester, but permit challenges have led to a delay in opening.

“No, I don’t believe the grand opening for the new retail store will be August 1,” Radford said. “So, initially that was the plan for the store to be complete by then, but then there were some permit things, a few changes. Now, the official grand opening day is to be determined at this time.”

In the meantime, students may purchase textbooks and required course materials via Wings Express and the online retailer’s website. eCampus also offers a limited selection of Raider spirit gear in the old 182 Student Union bookstore space until the new shop can open.
