On the blog: New chapter of national charity coming to Wright State

A Habitat for Humanity chapter is coming soon to Wright State University.

Wright State will soon be installing the first Habitat for Humanity chapter on campus. The four core students working on the installation, Dominique Woods, Ariana Dodds, Jesse Blair, and Jasmine Barnett, will discuss office positions, leadership opportunities, and upcoming goals for the new chapter at the upcoming meeting this Thursday.

Currently, “more than 250 colleges and universities across the country host Habitat for Humanity chapters on their campus,” according to Dave Mauch, a Wright State alumnus and Habitat of Greater Dayton’s Volunteer Service Director.

Mauch wants to see the service organization partner with Wright State and make a difference in the local community. Over 15 of those chapters are hosted on college campuses in Ohio, including Ohio State University, Bowling Green State University, Miami University, and University of Dayton, he further states.

University of Dayton’s Habitat chapter President and Vice President will attend the meeting to discuss their experiences and opportunities with the organization. The four core students will be known as the legacies for WSU’s Habitat chapter.

The meeting will take place on February 26th, at 6:30pm in 047 Rike. Refreshments will also be served.
