Doordash is seen as the royalty of the food delivery world but comes with its fair share of challenges too.

Advantages include a user-friendly app that is quick to use, lower delivery fees that range approximately from six to eight dollars and a monthly subscription that can save students money.

Disadvantages include higher fees for more items, a lower variety of orderable items and potential slow delivery time. A rating of 4.8 stars on the Apple App Store indicates that most customers are satisfied with their experience.

UberEats

The widely successful service deliverer Uber launched this food delivery option in 2014.

Advantages include a wide variety of food options, a monthly subscription to save money, no additional fees on delivery and generally reliable delivery time.

Disadvantages include potential difficulty in cancellation, potential slow delivery and lower payment for drivers. A rating of 4.8 stars on the Apple App Store indicates that most customers are satisfied with their experience.

GoPuff

GoPuff, founded in 2013, is one of the lesser known delivery services on this list.

Advantages include consumer item delivery in addition to food, good delivery time and updated inventory.

Disadvantages include potential bad customer service, limited locations and high turnover. A rating of 4.8 stars on the Apple App Store indicates that most customers are satisfied with their experience.

Instacart

Instacart, like GoPuff, offers grocery delivery.

Advantages include fresh groceries, exclusive deals and delivery from large grocery chains.

Disadvantages include no delivery from restaurants, potential poor customer service and fees. A rating of 4.8 stars on the app store indicates that most customers are satisfied with their experience.

Grubhub

Around since 2004, Grubhub is one of the oldest food delivery apps on this list.

Advantages of ordering from Grubhub include convenience, variety of local food options and pre-ordering.

Disadvantages include fees up to over $10 depending on location and potential low quality of food and delivery time. A rating of 4.7 stars on the Apple App Store indicates that most customers are satisfied with their experience.
