Student organization welcomes all religious ideas to their meetings

Wright State’s Christian apologetics organization Ratio Christi encourages and challenges students to bring their ideas and beliefs to their meetings.

“A person who is not a Christian should attend Ratio Christi to discover and be exposed to the rationality and substantial reason behind the Christian faith,” vice president of Ratio Christi Jonathon Phillipp said. “That way they can discover that there is reason and rationale, principles and objectivity, behind the Christian faith that establishes its relevancy in the marketplace of worldviews.”

This organization studies the logical, philosophical and historical dimensions of the Christian faith. The goal of Ratio Christi is to populate heaven by planting seeds of truth into the minds of atheists, agnostics, skeptics and spiritual seekers, while at the same time educating, equipping and training the Christian community in principles of how to think, not what to think.

Ratio Christi means “the reason of Christ” in Latin and is a global Christian organization. Not only do Wright State students attend, but also parents and non-Wright State affiliated adults.

Director of the Wright State chapter of Ratio Christi, Dave Nedostup, has more than 30 years of experience in apologetics. Some topics include “What Makes the Bible Different,” “Is there Eyewitnesses of the Testimony of Jesus” and “So What if it is True.” Free pizza is provided weekly.

The organization hosts events at Wright State including popular Christian apologetic speakers such as Lee Strobal, an ex-atheist.

“I would challenge all students, Christian and non-Christian, to attend one of our classes, meet some great people, enjoy some free pizza and share with us their views and beliefs,” president of Ratio Christi Christopher Kouse said. “We want truth and if you have it then we want to be what you are. Consider the gauntlet laid down.”

Ratio Christi meets every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in 143 Medical Science Building.
