Tuition refund date extended to Friday

Due to the active faculty union strike at Wright State, the course registration and drop date for a 100 percent refund has been extended for students.

“The late registration fee will be waived to assist you if changes to your schedule are necessary,” Susan Edwards, university provost said in a campus-wide email.

If students have questions, the university recommends they reach out to Raider Connect.

“In an effort to help support your success and your academic goals, we are extending the refund period for full-term classes. The new deadline is Friday, February 8, at 5:00 p.m,” Edwards said in the email.

There have been many questions surrounding what may happen if faculty do not return to classes that currently are without substitutes.

A Raider Connect worker said that the university has a plan in place. In some capacity, students will likely be given credit for the classes they are currently enrolled in if no teacher takes over.

Michael Griest, director of Raider Connect, declined our request for comment.

The Office of Financial Aid also sent out an email to students encouraging regular class attendance and extending their appreciation for students’ cooperation.

“Please continue to make every attempt to attend your regularly scheduled classes,” the email said.
