Wezler sets course record

After two rounds, the men’s golf team is placed second in the Northern Kentucky Classic with one more day remaining on Monday, Sept. 28.

Junior Ryan Wenzler dominated the field on Saturday, Sept. 27 as he shot one under par in the first round (70) and broke a course record in the second round with a 64 (seven under par).  He shot a total of 134 in the first two rounds and has a six stroke advantage over anyone else in the classic.

Collectively, the Raiders are five over par (573) for the tournament and trail Morehead State by one stroke.  They have a three stroke lead over the third place Youngstown State Penguins and shot the lowest of any team in the second round with 573 strokes (six under par).

Senior Cody Nickson shot a 71 in the first round and cut his score by one stroke in the second round for a total of 141 (One under par).  He is in a four-way tie for third.

Junior Austin Sipe ranked third on the team with a 148.  Senior Connar Lash and junior Chris Rossi each shot a 153.
