Women's soccer dominates senior day

The Wright State women’s soccer team dominated Youngstown State 3-0 during senior day at Alumni Field on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The Raiders got ahead early 1-0 just 22:51 into the game after sophomore mid-fielder Bryce Hueber scored her third goal of the season.  Hueber found the goal again 10 minutes later after an assist by freshman Aaliyah Patten to give WSU a 2-0 lead.

“She’s dangerous not only scoring goals but creating chances,” head coach Pat Ferguson said.

Wright State found the goal a third time in the first half after sophomore forward Savannah Carmosino scored her first of the season off of a corner kick.

“I think it says a lot about that players,”  Ferguson said.  “Coming back from last game and putting more than one goal up.”

Senior goal keeper Halle Pyle collected three saves in the game for her 48th of the season.

“It was a special day so it felt really really good,” Pyle said.  “Especially to score more than one goal and get the shutout.”

The Raiders (5-7-1) will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 21 for their final home game of the season at Alumni Field.  They will host Cleveland State (7-6-1) at 7 p.m.
