Spring semester fitness classes

Fitness classes are back for spring semester, offered at no cost for current Wright State students. A group fitness pass is required for all other participants. The classes are offered at varying times throughout the week and in a variety of different class formats. The line-up of classes is different than what was offered in the fall but many favorites remain.

LATEST: Winter beach vacation pros and cons

For those who like using dance as their form of cardio, the spring’s lineup of classes has many options, including: zumba, barre blend and SWERK. All of these classes are great options for those who are looking for a good cardio workout but don’t like running or other popular forms of cardio.

Overall, the schedule is cardio-heavy, offering the dance classes, as well as cycle fit five times a week. For those who like to get up early, cycling is offered at 7 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but if that isn’t your thing, they are also offered at noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

There is plenty of yoga being offered this semester with classes being held four times a week. The times for yoga are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. For those who like to lift weights and gain body strength, there are a few classes that utilize weight training, including: total body circuit, body sculpting and boot camp.

All fitness classes are drop-in, no need to sign up prior to the class. The classes are first come, first served so participants may want to arrive early just in case. All classes are held in one of the three studios located in the Student Union fitness center.
