Wright State Guardian Newspaper Day - Guardian Office Door / Sarah Cavender
On March 1, Student Body President Daniel Palmer signed a proclamation declaring every March 1 Guardian Newspaper Day.
“The Guardian is a tremendous asset to the Raider Community. They continue to remain unbiased and present the facts. We are thankful for their dedication to Wright State and wanted to recognize them for their service,” said Palmer.

The document reads, “to celebrate the tireless dedication of the Guardian Newspaper to keeping the campus community informed on university happenings.”
The Wright State Archives tweeted a photograph of the Guardian Newspaper’s first issue’s front page, published on March 19, 1965.

“This form of recognition means so much to our team,” said Sarah Cavender, editor in chief of The Guardian. “They definitely deserve it for all the hours and commitment they put into the organization and it shows each day. I couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments and the accomplishments of those before us at The Guardian.”
Since the 60's the newspaper was in print until 2017 where it took on a full digital format. The Wright State Guardian Newspaper website went through a re-brand over the summer of 2018 to change its logo, domain name and web page layout.
The Guardian Newspaper staff at Wright State dedicates their time time throughout the academic year to focus on student events, organizations and investigate news on campus. Completely student run and operated under Debra Lamp as the advisor.
