Hosted by the University Activities Board, an event planning student organization, Fall Fest will feature 68 student organizations, along with food and festivities, according to UAB Vice President Isabelle (Izzy) Rice.

This year’s Fall Fest theme is Wild West. With this theme comes  interactive activities like inflatable ax throwing and a mechanical bull.

“I think we’re all just really excited and ready for it to come. We’re excited for everyone to be on campus and give this opportunity to the new students,” Rice said.

Rice, alongside UAB President Qunijah Echols, have been working on and planning for this event for months.

Fall Fest is an event that promotes relationships and interaction, according to Alexia (Lexi) Ricker, UAB director of specialty events. The exuberant leader explained personal experiences of relationship building at the event.

“As a leader, that’s more people I can connect with, collaborate with and just get to know more people. That’s my favorite thing to do,” Ricker said.

Fall Fest takes place on Friday, Aug. 26 from 10a.m. to 3p.m. in the Quad, Mall and North Lawn, on the Dayton campus.
