The Wright State University women’s basketball team returned home to host the Northern Kentucky Norse on Thursday. The Raiders have been finding footing throughout the season, coming into Thursday with a 3-19 overall record and 2-10 in Horizon League play.
A record-setting night for women’s basketball was not enough to defend the Nutter Center over the weekend, as the Raiders fell 0-2 to the Cleveland State Vikings and the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.
Students are back on campus at Wright State, but while academics have been gone, WSU’s basketball squads have been hard at work in the Horizon League. Both teams have struggled to start campaigns, but have staged comebacks in recent games to start the spring.
This year’s women’s basketball season was full of surprises, but the biggest surprises came after the season was over.
