Dear Wright State Community,

As my term as Student Body President comes to a close, I am filled with a mix of emotions, gratitude, nostalgia, but above all, a deep sense of pride. This past year has been filled with challenges that have tested our community, but it has also been a year of growth, resilience, and remarkable achievements.

Throughout my term, I have been constantly challenged as a leader, confronting obstacles that demanded innovation, compassion, and unwavering determination. Amidst these trials, I found solace and strength in the invaluable lessons I have learned within of our classrooms, particularly in Dr. John Feldmeier’s Constitutional law classes.

The principles and insight I have gained from those classes have become more than just academic knowledge; they became a guiding light that have lit the path forward as I navigated the complexities of real-world scenarios here on campus. From navigating complex issues to advocating for student rights, I was able to apply the teachings of constitutional law to ensure justice and fairness. This has shaped me not just as a leader, but as an advocate for justice and equity.

Serving as Wright State’s Student Body President has truly been the honor of my life. To have had the opportunity to represent and advocate for the diverse interests and needs of our student body has been a privilege beyond measure. Each day has presented me with a new opportunity to make positive impacts, and I am beyond grateful for the trust and support you place in me to lead this community forward.

I would like to extend special thanks to Aliesha, my fearless vice president and my right hand. Your leadership, passion, and hard work have been an inspiration to us all. Your dedication to the SGA mission and your willingness to go above and beyond to serve the student body, especially students in need have not gone unnoticed.

To the rest of my student government team, thank you for your countless hours of hard work, your innovative ideas, and your unwavering commitment to making our campus community a better place. Each of you has played a vital role in our collective success, and I am truly grateful for everything you have done.

To the faculty and staff of Wright State, I extend my deepest thanks. The unwavering commitment you show to students’ success is the cornerstone of Wright State’s excellence. You dedication to nurturing and empowering the next generation of leaders is evident in everything you do, and it is because of your efforts that our university continues to thrive.

As my term ends, I do so with optimism and confidence in the bright future that lies ahead for Wright State. Even though my time as Student Body President has come to an end, my commitment to serving this community remains steadfast. I will carry the lessons I have learned, and the memories shared with me as I continue into my senior year and the next chapter of my journey.

Thank you, Wright State University, for entrusting me with the privilege of serving as your Student Body President.

Stephanie Buettner, SGA President 2023-2024
