Mingo named HL Player of the Week

Coming off a two-game stretch where she finished as the team’s leading scorer, junior Tay’ler Mingo was named the Horizon League Player of the Week Monday for the week ending Dec. 15.

Mingo scored 15 points in Wright State’s loss to Louisville on Dec. 7 and followed that performance with 24 points in a 79-54 win over Xavier on Sunday. Mingo is averaging 15.4 points per game on the season. She is also leading the team in free throw at 88.9 percent.

This is the fourth time this season a Raiders’ player has received this honor. Kim Demmings-the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year- has won the award twice and Ivory James has won once. All three players have combined to average over 50 points per game this season, giving the Raiders a much-needed balanced offense.
