Student Government Association met on Tuesday, March 15 to discuss the relaxing COVID restrictions, the NCAA Watch Party for the men’s basketball team and SGA campaigning week.

Watch Party

Coordinated by the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, the watch party event for the First Four March Madness men’s basketball game will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m in the Student Union Market on March 16.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be a raffle for headphones and additional giveaways. Chartwells is sponsoring the concession stand, and students can pay $7.75 or one swipe for open concessions provided during the party.

COVID update

SGA President Jonathan Ciero discussed the new mask policy announced over spring break and shared hopes that this is the last COVID update he will have to make.

“Masks only in the classroom and by requests in office. The testing center is still open and students can receive two tests a week. There was no post-spring-break bump of cases,” Ciero said.

SGA campaign week

Policy Administrator Chris Jenkins encouraged everyone to get excited for the week of SGA campaigning that lasts from March 14 to March 21. Voting begins for the SGA board elections at 8 a.m. on March 21.
