Enjoy your weekend: Dayton area festivals

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? All corners of the Miami Valley region are gearing up for festivals full of heritage and fun to cater to almost anyone’s interests.

Themed ‘Saluting our WWII Veterans,’ the City of Beavercreek will host its annual Popcorn Festival Sept. 12 and 13. Located in front of the Beavercreek Kroger on the main-strip of Dayton-Xenia Road, the celebration will be popping with over 200 booths and vendors for food, crafts, entertainment and, of course, popcorn. Greek Festival:

Join the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton to celebrate all things Greek! The 57th annual Greek Festival is happening at 500 Belmonte Park, North next to the Dayton Art Institute Sept. 11, 12 and 13. People of all backgrounds are invited to enjoy food, live dance and music performances, cooking demonstrations and more. The festival is kid-friendly, with activities all weekend at the festival’s Zorta Zone. Admission is free Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. then jumps to $2 per person for the rest of the weekend. Italian Festival: 

Dayton will also celebrate Italian heritage this weekend. With free admission, the annual Italian Fall Festa is set for Sept. 11, 12 and 13 in Kettering. There will be dinners every night, live Italian music and entertainment, bocce games, the Meatball Madness 5K Run and a spaghetti eating contest.
