Thursday, March 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Compassion in Action: Shoes 4 the Shoeless

At this event, Compassion in Action team members will pass out socks and shoes to children in need. Join the service at the Greater Dayton Recreation Center at 1923 West Third Street in Dayton.

Tuesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. 

University Activities Board Battle of the DJs

During the Battle of the DJs, UAB invites students to compete against fellow Raiders with the help of professional DJs to see which student has the best music taste. Students can sign up for this event on UAB’s Instagram page, @WSUAB.

National Society of Black Engineers and Association of Black Business Students Interview Skills Workshop

In this collaborative event, these organizations will host a professional from Reynolds & Reynolds to coach students about key interview skills and necessities.

Campus Recreation Adventure Speaker Series: Sixteen Day Expedition Rowing the Grand Canyon

Amy Dingle and Cassie Lane take students on an adventure of the time the pair, with 14 other people, rowed the Colorado River, a 226-mile feat through heat and wind. The two will share personal perspectives about the adventure and experience. Join this event at Cox Arboretum Metropark in the Fifth Third Conference Room located at 6733 North Springboro Pike.

Mindful Magic Introduction to Tarot and Astrology

Join Mindful Magic as the team explores divination in tarot and natal charts. The organization will provide foundational information for students to take the practices home.

UAB Make-and-Take Tote Bags

UAB provides an opportunity for students to design personal tote bags. “Backpacks are so out of style, so why not get a tote bag?” the UAB Engage page says.

Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority: Pie an AOII

At this event, Alpha Omicron Pi will raise money for the arthritis foundation and advertise a Strikeout event. There will be a tarp and trashbags, so no mess.

H2O Church Hodge Podge Trivia

The H2O Church will put on a friendly trivia night for a chance to win a Rapid Fired Pizza gift card. This is a monthly trivia night where groups of three face off.

Delta Zeta Carnival

Join the Delta Zeta sisters on the North Lawn to raise money for Seriousfun camps through good and carnival games.

Engineers Without Borders: A Night with EWB

Join EWB for a catered dinner to learn more about the latrines and handwashing stations that the organization has built in Kabingo, Uganda while also enjoying a cash bar, 50/50 raffle, silent auctions and presentations about domestic and international impact.

Campus Recreation Adventure Speaker Series: Biking Dayton to Niagara Falls

Jeffrey McElfresh cycled 933 miles over 19 days to Niagara Falls while camping along the way. During this trip, McElfresh pushed physical limits while experiencing life and cycling with a disability. “McElfresh was diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth, a neurological disease, as a teenager but only started riding his bike long distances as his mobility declined in his late 40s,” the Engage description about the event reads.

Residential Community Association Hosts Michael Kent: Comic, Magician, Smart@$$

Join RCA for a night full of laughter and magic from Michael Kint, Entertainer of the Year and Magician of the Year who has performed in over 500 colleges across the country.

Amigos Latinos Student Association Tutoring at El Puente Learning Center

Join Amigos Latinos in this volunteer opportunity to help tutor ESL children. After completing a background check, students can join at 22 Notre Dame Avenue in Dayton.

National Residence Hall Honorary Project Linus

Join NRHH in a day-long blanket tying marathon to help the organization donate to Project Linus, a non-profit organization that provides blankets to children.

UAB: A Night with Comedian Derrick Knopsnyder 

UAB will host comedian Derrick Knopsnyder, a fast-rising comedian who is the youngest comedian to be a regular feature act at the Pittsburgh Improv. With boyish charm and quick wit, Knopsnyder can connect well with young audiences. Join in the fun in the Student Union Atrium.
