Golf places fourth in Murray State Inviational

The Raiders took fourth place in the Murray State Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The team shot 877 after three rounds, 14 strokes behind the winner and host Murray State.

Junior Ryan Wenzler tied for fourth overall and led the way for WSU with a total of 216 while shooting a 73 in the first two rounds and a team low 70 in the third round.

In the individuals round junior Chris Rossi shot a pair of 72’s and a 73 for a total of 217, tying for seventh overall.

After shooting a 71 in the opening round on Friday senior Conner Lash finished with a total of 219 to place him in a tie for 10th place.

Junior Austin Sipe tied for 18th while shooting a 71 in the second round and a total of 221.

Senior Cody Nickson shot a 224 and freshman Mitch Lehigh shot a 227.

The Raiders will be back in action on Sunday, Sept 2 at the Northern Kentucky Classic. The tournament will continue and come to a complete on Monday.
