Guide to Mental Health Resources

Here is a list of just a few mental health resources for Wright State University students, staff and faculty members, both on- and off-campus. 

Crisis lines

Those facing a mental health emergency or needing access to immediate care can call the following crisis lines.

Raider Cares

Raider Cares is WSU’s specific 24-hour mental health care line that is free and accessible to all students. Students can contact Raider Cares at 937-775-4567.

National Crisis Line

Those struggling with suicidal thoughts and actions can call the national susicide prevention line at 988.

Long-term resources

Counseling and Wellness

Located on the lower floor of the Student Union on main campus (054), CWS offers a variety of mental health services to WSU students, including group counseling and individual therapy sessions. 

Students who pay the semesterly $20 fee have access to CWS’s services and can get up to six therapy sessions per semester. The office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m to 5 p.m. with walk-in hours 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students can also schedule an initial appointment here

Employee Assistance Program

University faculty and staff members seeking mental health assistance have access to EAP. The program is free and features 24-hour telephone access to counselors and the mental health chatting system Tess, which is a 24-hour mental health text service.

Employees also have access to six free face-to-face sessions with a licensed counselor. Those looking to use these services can check out the EAP website or call 800-227-6007.

Mental Health Recovery Board of Greene, Clark and Madison County

This board oversees multiple mental health services and offices in the local area. The government-sponsored organization connects local residents to counselors, therapists, mental health professionals, addiction specialists and support groups.

Equitas Health

Equitas Health is an inclusive health care provider in Dayton that focuses on servicing the LGBTQA+ community and minorities.

Equitas offers a variety of services including mental health assistance and group counseling. People seeking these resources can find more information and the providers appointment portal on the Equitas website.
