Attention boys and ghouls: Thursday, Oct. 31 from 4-8 p.m., Wright State University will hold this spooky season’s Monster Wall Crawl.

The event is held by the Outdoor Resource Center (ORC) and is just one their of 60 events held each semester.

“The Monster Wall Crawl is an incredibly fun event to be a part of and to put on in general, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and spooky season goes hand in hand with it,” said Climbing wall Manger Matt Slusser.

The Monster Wall Crawl is a costume party inside the climbing wall in the Student Union. It is a costume party, so looking festive is encouraged.

There will be rock climbing, candy and a costume contest at 7 p.m. Admission is free for Wright State students and registration is effortless; to join the ORC staff for a night of climbing, just check in at the office on the 31st.

“We hope the space is a fun and safe alternative to a traditional college costume party. Students are invited to dress up, eat candy and climb in our rock wall,” said Erin Sherrets, outdoor recreation program manager. “We hope to create an inviting atmosphere in our climbing wall through spooky music and fun costumes.”

Participating in campus activities gives students a feeling of belonging and creates and opportunity for them to feel connected. The Monster Wall Crawl allows them to try new things as well as make new friends.

Taking a step outside of your comfort zone can be a breath of fresh air.

“This event is a nice break from the normal-ness of classes and the routine that sets in as the semester goes on, and to get a break where you can be silly, have fun and wear a Halloween costume while climbing,” said Slusser.

Eat, drink and be scary, Raiders!
