Men’s Soccer: Oct. 22 and 26

After double overtime, the home Men’s Soccer game on Tuesday night against Marshall ended in a draw, 2-2. In the second half, Forward Logan Thompson (2) and Forward Alec Philippe (7) each scored a goal for Wright State. It was Thompson’s first goal this season. The goals were assisted by Defender Jeremie Charron (25) and Midfielder Blake Pittser (24), respectively.

Wright State had 12 shots, four shots on goal, five saves, six corner kicks and 18 fouls. Marshall had 17 shots, seven shots on goal, two saves, five corner kicks and 11 fouls.

On Saturday night, the men’s team defeated Cleveland State at Cleveland State 2-1. In the first half, Midfielder Stefan Rokvic (9) scored with an assist from Midfielder Jackson Dietrich (8). It was his seventh goal this season. In the second half, Vlad Jandric scored with assists from Hayden Parente and Lawrence Karpeh.

Wright State had seven shots, five shots on goal, seven saves, five corner kicks and 17 fouls. Cleveland State had 18 shots, eight shots on goal, three saves, five corner kicks and 11 fouls. Wright State’s Defender Jeremie Charron (25) was ejected from the game.

Women’s Soccer: Oct. 23 and 27

The Women’s Soccer team defeated Youngstown State University (YSU) at home 2-1 Wednesday night. In the first half, Forward Kaylin Helinski (23) scored a goal with an assist from Forward/Midfielder Josie Krupp (19). In the second half, Midfielder Destiny Johnson (27) scored a goal with an assist from Forward Jordyne Helinski (22). It was Johnson’s ninth goal this season.

Wright State had 18 shots, 10 shots on goal, five saves, four corner kicks and five fouls. YSU had 13 shots, six shots on goal, eight saves, two corner kicks and 11 fouls.

On Sunday afternoon, the women’s team played at IUPUI and lost 3-0. Wright State had 15 shots, nine shots on goal, five saves, seven corner kicks and 10 fouls. IUPUI had 22 shots, eight shots on goal, nine saves, eight corner kicks and 13 fouls.

Volleyball: Oct. 25 and 26

Volleyball played Northern Kentucky University (NKU) at NKU on Friday night. They beat the Norse 3-1. Wright State won the first set 25-23. NKU won the second set 25-19. Wright State won the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-17.

Team leaders included Outside Hitter Megan Alders (15) with 14 kills, Middle Blocker/Right Side Teddie Sauer (14) with 3 aces and 6 blocks, Setter Lainey Stephenson (2) with 40 assists and Defensive Specialist/Libero Jenna Story (1) with 33 digs.

On Saturday, the volleyball team was at IUPUI, where they again won 3-1. IUPUI won the first set 25-21. Wright State won the next three consecutive sets, 25-11, 25-18, and 25-21.

Team leaders included Middle Blocker/Right Side Teddie Sauer (14) with 10 kills and two aces, Right Side Celia Powers (11) with five blocks, Setter Lainey Stephenson (2) with 35 assists and and Defensive Specialist/Libero Jenna Story (1) with 36 digs.

Tennis

Men’s Tennis is at ITA Regional in Nashville, Tenn., until Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Women’s Tennis was at ITA Regional from Oct. 17-22 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
