Writers Note:

These series feature episodes that take place during the winter; however, these series are not entirely set during the season. Each one establishes a cozy vibe in some way, shape or form. After all, this is an essential element of a great snow day.

My Senpai is Annoying (2021)

Those looking for a short romantic comedy series should check out “My Senpai is Annoying”. This series centers around an office full of interesting characters, but more specifically Futaba Igarashi’s annoyance with her senpai, or known as the person she wants to impress.

At 12 episodes total, this is a great option for viewers who want to finish an entire series in one sitting.

This series is currently available to watch on Funimation.

Horimiya (2021)

Kyoko Hori is a popular student with a cheery disposition, while Izumi Miyamura is a loner type who always seems to mope around. As the two navigate their differences, they eventually learn that the similarities exist in multitudes.

“Horimiya” is a slice of life, romantic comedy series that will surely have you feeling merry as the snow taps on the ground, and at 13 episodes, there is not a big time commitment to withstand either.

“Horimiya” is available to watch on Crunchyroll.

Komi Can’t Communicate (2021)

Shoko Komi enters high school with the goal of making 100 friends. It is a lofty goal, sure, but one that is made even more difficult due to her crippling social angst.

This series is, again, a slice of life series “Komi Can’t Communicate” is a relaxing series that will have audience members laughing at all the eccentric personalities who pop up in Komi’s everyday life.

There are two seasons available to enjoy on Netflix.

Haikyuu!! (2014-2020)

This acclaimed sports anime is perfect for people who are looking for a side of excitement to go along with a main dish of snug.

“Haikyuu” is, at its core, a slice of life story that revolves around a boys volleyball team that is determined to re-establish the legacy of Karasuno High School. Along the way, the team competes against an eclectic mix of opponents that are just as easy to root for.

This is a story full of endearing characters, amazing character development, rivalries and great competition on the volleyball court.

It is worth noting that there are currently 85 episodes of the series in total, so maybe this is an anime to enjoy over many snow days.

“Haikyuu!!” is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
