Car theft on campus

An automobile was reported stolen from Wright State University early this past Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. a vehicle was reported stolen from Parking Lot 1 on campus.

The car has been identified as a 2011 Honda Odyssey and is currently still missing.

When asked about the case Capt. David Ratliff, of the Wright State University Police Department (WSUPD) said the case is still under investigation, but was able to share some information.

“It’s been put into L.E.A.D.S. [Law Enforcement Agencies Data System] as stolen if it shows up anywhere we will be notified,” Ratliff said.

Eli Chizever, 22, recalls other vehicle thefts on campus, but does not see it as a problem at Wright State.

“I recall multiple vehicle thefts occurring on campus over the past three years. I do remember receiving an e-mail earlier this week about the incident,” Chizever said. “I am certain that campus police are doing everything in their power to detain the person(s) responsible for the car theft.

“Personally, I am not worried about my vehicle being stolen on campus, but I will continue taking precaution by locking my vehicle at all times and parking in visible locations.”

No further details are available as this is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has any information pertaining to this incident please contact the WSUPD at 937-775-2111
