On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Wright State Student Government Association held its weekly meeting. The main topic of discussion was the University Center for International Education coat drive.

UCIE coat drive

The UCIE coat drive is an effort to give any students who are in need of a coat for the winter an opportunity to get one. UCIE will currently only take coat donations. They partnered with a local organization and, according to Hannah Davidson, the SGA senator for the College of Science and Math, expected a donation of around 50 coats. With approximated scheduling, the organization delivered the coats on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Executive session

SGA went into an executive session at the meeting. When they came back, President Stephanie Buettner explained that they made multiple appointments with university staff, which will be released to the public soon.

Rowdy bobblehead award

Paige Benson, SGA’s director of external affairs, had the honor of passing the Rowdy bobblehead award to AJ Allen, SGA’s director of student organizations.

“I was just going to pass on Rowdy this week to an individual who has been working really hard, making sure that all the students are heard, making sure all the organizations are well put together and making sure everything is going according to plan,” Benson said about Allen.

The next SGA meeting will be at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the Student Union Atlantis A/B room.
